Parent pathways

Parent Pathways came about when two old friends

became new parents 6 months apart during the Covid Pandemic.

Our pathways into parenthood took us by surprise and after a few catch ups over coffee, with our new babies, we realised we had lots in common as new mothers - riding the rollercoaster journey of parenthood. One of the common themes for us was that we experienced challenges postnatally and we were able to talk freely with each other about ways to cope and find support around us. Together we share the same vision of the things that we would like to be able to offer, to support other parents just like us, by helping with the joys and challenges that we all face on the pathway of parenthood.

About Us

Sarah Hubbard

Sarah is based in Deal where she lives with her son George, husband Tom & cats. Sarah works in a number of places including local Primary schools, a local Dance academy & running her own parent & baby class - Moo Music Deal & Dover. She loves spending time with her family and particularly enjoys trips to the zoo as well as singing in a couple of choirs. Sarah experienced Birth Trauma for a number of reasons and found her experiences difficult to process initially. After recognising she needed some help with processing everything and recovering physically she was able to begin a healing process. Part of Sarah’s healing process is the desire to help others to try to ensure that they do not experience similar challenges to those that she did, and to help those that have faced challenges by pointing them in the direction of whatever help they may need. She feels that talking is a really valuable tool for removing stigma of certain subjects and also bringing people together to know they have shared experiences and that they are not alone in what they are feeling. Sharing experiences both positive and challenges is another of Parent Pathways key aims; to help people to feel that they are not on the Parent Pathway journey alone.

Sophie Eleanor

Sophie is based in Dover where she lives with her daughter Eleanor, husband Kieran & doggy Bertie. Sophie works in Primary Education and currently works part-time, spending the rest of her week having fun with her daughter. She loves nothing more than spending quality time with her family by the sea and enjoys socialising with friends she has made along the way. On becoming a Mum, Sophie felt that her awareness of the things new families face became raised through her experiences and those around her. Having felt open enough to talk with Sarah and other friends, she felt that she needed to find support after not being signposted by those who could have done so for her. She feels strongly that she doesn’t want others to have to find the help they need for themselves and wants to do what she can to encourage others to reach out and find whatever support they may need. This is one of Parent Pathways key aims; to help people find the help they need to make the Parent Pathway as comfortable as possible.
